Description

Narrator: (aka me) The year is 2016. Soviet Russia is on the brink of total war. The country is divided into two nations. The Loyalists, and the Ultranationalist. While the loyalists struggle to maintain order and stability within their government, the Ultranationalists seek to overthrow their government in order to gain independence and salvage their economy. The U.S. and British governments intervene in an attempt to support the Loyalists and thwart the Ultranationalists plans to establish their own government.

Johnathan "Soap" Mactavish sits in the interrogation room as Lieutenant General Shepherd asks him what happened on the previous op.

Sheperd: Start from the beginning.

Narrator: Soap's mind flashes back to Operation Kingfish, a reconnaissance mission to learn about Makarov's whereabouts and intentions. They find vital intel at Makarov's last known position.

Soap: Price. You better see this.

Price: What is it?

Soap: He's targeting Bravo Six.

Price: BOMB!

Narrator: As Soap further explained the details of the mission, Shepherd begins to ask him if they knew where Makarov was hiding.

Soap: It was a trap.

Sheperd: I know. Tell me what happened to Price.

Narrator: As the flashback continued to plague Soap's mind, he was able to explain every last detail about what happened to his best friend and team leader, Captain Price.

Somehow, Price knew it would be a trap. If Makarov wanted to be found, obviously it was for a reason. The team survives the blast and makes their way to the LZ. Overhead, an AC130 Spectre gunship provides cover fire as the team advances to the landing site. Shortly afterward, the Russians fire a Stinger missile at the gunship. The first missile is rendered ineffective. The second however...

AC130 Pilot: Brace for impact!

Narrator: The gunship crashes and burns. The team has lost their use of air cover. Price knows if they cannot stall the Ultranationalist reinforcements long enough, they will not make it out alive. He makes the heroic sacrifice and stays behind while his team evacuates.

Sheperd: That's it?

Soap: WHO IS KINGFISH?!

Sheperd: We'll find him.

Narrator: Clearly this isn't who Soap had in mind. How could this man really be so dangerous. He might not look the part, but looks can be deceiving.

For starters, this man ran a racketeering operation for 15 years. He blackmailed people just to take their money. Thousands of people committed suicide because there was no easy way out. The police knew about it, but were powerless to stop him. They simply did not have enough evidence to have him arrested. This would come to be known as the DL6 incident: A mystery that remained unsolved for 15 years.

Another reason he was so dangerous was because of his attempt on the district court's chief defense attorney, Mia Fey. 15 years prior, White murdered her father. He was willing to spare her life if she agreed to keep quiet about it. Even though it was still under investigation at the time, the police department proposed a scheme so crazy they actually believed it might work. They learned of her family's connection with the dead, and believed the best way to solve the case was to have Mia's mother, Misty Fey, channel the undead spirit of a man they believed who could identify the perpetrator. During a court testimony, Misty channeled the spirit, and the judge found it utterly preposterous. The case was off the books. Mia however, determined to expose this man's guilt, had secretly been collecting evidence to have him arrested.

Does "this man" really need any introduction whatsoever? Some of you probably think so. But most of you already know his name. Most of you know him as Redd White. White's secretary, April May, had learned of Mia's attempt to collect evidence to use as leverage, and in a desperate attempt to "protect her company's reputation" bugged her office phone with a wiretap.

Now that White had learned where she was keeping the evidence, he planned to use Mia as "collateral damage" and pin the blame on her younger sister, Maya Fey.

That all changed one day when a commando unit codenamed: Task Force 141, a black ops group consisting of operatives from the U.S. and Western Europe had intercepted a radio frequency from the wiretap in Mia's office. 141 sent a Delta Force team inside with orders to capture or kill  What Soap learned was they had the final piece of the puzzle. The final piece of evidence that would seal White's fate forever. Yet little did they realize was that he was actually the final piece of the puzzle. They needed him alive, but if the situation was dire, they would be authorized to execute him.

On Monday, September 5th, 2016 (Ironically 12 years after the release of the game) At approximately 8:53 P.M. White dropped by the office as Mia was sorting the paperwork that would ultimately be his downfall. Mia jumped out of her seat and made a break for the door. White grabbed the replica of "the thinker" which was being used to store the evidence off the desk and walked towards her.

Meanwhile, outside:

Narrator: As the joint force between the S.A.S. and Delta Force soldiers quietly walked towards the door, they could hear the heated conversation between White and Mia. As Mia made a grab for the phone to call for help, White was standing only two feet away from her. He raised his arm above her head, about to strike her when he heard a series of what sounded like fireworks. 9 loud bangs went off in his head, and he soon found out that the Delta team tossed a "Nine-banger", a special type of flashbang grenade far more effective than its predecessor the flashbang grenade. White and Mia both recuperated from the loud ringing in their ears and the extreme dizziness perpetrated by the stun grenades. White found himself on his knees, his hands zip-tied behind his back. Mia, still in shock, was being examined by one of the medics. Phoenix and Maya came bursting through the door, wondering what just happened.

Maya: Sis, are you alright?

Mia: Yeah. My head hurts like you wouldn't believe.

Phoenix: And who are you?

White: I hereby exercise my right to remain silent. I will not testify tomorrow.

Mia: Save your breath. He knows he can't win. Whether he testifies or not, this will be an open-and-shut case.

White: Aren't you forgetting something?

Mia: Such as?

White: The case file. Without the details of the case, no one will know what happened.

Soap: Right here.

Narrator: Soap reaches into his bag and pulls out a folder with a photo matching the suspect description of White. They have more than enough evidence to throw the book at him. Minutes later, detective Gumshoe arrives on scene to find out what was going on.

Gumshoe: I'll take it from here pal! Alright, pal, you're coming with me!

White: I'm still not going to confess.

Phoenix: Good luck with that.

Narrator: The next morning, Phoenix, Mia, and Maya stop for lunch near the office. Soap joins them. Hard to believe it took 15 years to solve one case, but with White incarcarated, DL6 has been solved and nobody else has to become a victim of this horrific incident anymore.

Maya: Who were you looking for?

Soap: A Russian terrorist named Makarov. Turns out White was just one of his pawns. This time I was sure we had him. I can't even count how many times he's eluded capture.

Phoenix: You'll get another shot at it. It just takes a lot of patience.

Soap: Last time we found him, he killed over 30,000 Marines with a single nuke and hundreds of people in an airport. We placed a sleeper agent among them, which was probably a mistake. Makarov killed him and the Russians saw it as an act of war. If I find him, I'm not going to have him tried for his crimes. I'm just going to blow his head off. He's too dangerous to be kept alive. He murdered countless innocent men and women. He declared war against us. He had my best friend placed in the Gulag. His time will come. Count on it.

Narrator: I know this is fictional, and the Reds aren't truly evil like the story says they are, but they're known to stab you in the back. Regardless of whether it is true or not, I still get the feeling that video games involving the Russians, Chinese, or North Koreans can be used as propaganda and inadvertently lead to war. You have been warned
